Michigan Community Health Centers Celebrated America’s Health Centers: Serving Locally, Leading Nationally” August 7-13, during National Health Center Week. This theme underscores how Community Health Centers deliver a unique approach that targets health needs and saves taxpayer dollars. Community Health Centers are strong partnerships of people, governments, and communities who work together to meet the unique and diverse health conditions of the community.
“Community Health Centers make quality care available to hundreds of thousands of patients across Michigan who would otherwise go without it, and they employ thousands of people statewide. That is why I have led efforts to help give access to families needing care at 16 new Community Health Centers in Michigan, and to increase these Centers’ access to electronic medical records. National Health Center Week is a great reminder of the difference Community Health Centers make in the lives of so many,” said Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI).
